Course Overview

Boston Golf Club offers an exclusive 18-hole championship course tucked within a mature, tree-lined landscape that delivers a classic parkland challenge in Hingham, Massachusetts. Designed with strategic depth, the layout demands thoughtful shot-making and a versatile short game, rewarding precision and course management over brute power. Each hole unfolds within a carefully maintained setting where towering oaks and maples frame fairways and greens, creating pockets of calm that contrast with the course’s exacting demands.

Players encounter a variety of hole types, from demanding doglegs to open approaches guarded by well-positioned bunkers and subtle contours. The course’s bentgrass greens present smooth, true surfaces that test putting touch amid gentle undulations, encouraging an intuitive read of pace and break. Wind is often a factor near the coastal edge of the property, adding a further layer of complexity for golfers aiming to navigate this refined test.

While Boston Golf Club maintains a private members-only policy, those granted access will find a well-appointed clubhouse providing comfortable amenities and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff’s attentive presence ensures the pace remains steady, and course conditions stay consistently excellent throughout the season.

This is a course that suits skilled golfers who appreciate traditional New England parkland style, delivering a balanced blend of technical challenge and visual appeal. Walking the fairways offers an immersive connection with the natural environment, where the quiet rustle of leaves and the sightlines framed by mature trees foster a focused, serene experience. The course’s layout suits players with a range of handicaps but shines brightest under the play of low or mid-handicappers seeking to plot a thoughtful approach to each hole.

For those fortunate to tee off here, Boston Golf Club represents a test where accuracy, strategy, and patience coalesce. Planning ahead is essential as rounds are by member invitation only, and walking is encouraged, making proper footwear and preparation critical for a rewarding day on these classic fairways.

This club has really gone downhill. Filled with politics, egos, and pretentious members, they do not serve the course. Overly concerned with Golf Digest Ratings and focus on making the course better for ratings, not for the members. Save yourself the time and the money and do not join. Play as a guest if you get the chance, and no more.

Boston Golf Club is home to a championship golf course that ranks with some of the best in Massachusetts. This tree-lined parkland layout provides a wonderful test for your all-round game, with many attractive, skilfully crafted and challenging holes to enjoy. However, this is a private course generally playable only by members and their guests.

What an experience. I have played many great golf courses and Boston Golf Club is the best. If you are luckly enough to know a member and they invite you to play drop everything on your schedule and go.

What a wonderful course and experience. Course was absolutely amazing, caddies were great, and the clubhouse and staff were also accommodating and super friendly for a non member. Would love to go back if I ever get the chance again at the drop Of a dime.
