Course Overview

Situated in the vibrant community of Coral Gables, Biltmore Golf Course Miami offers an 18-hole resort-style layout that blends historical charm with Florida’s lush subtropical environment. This public course invites golfers of varying abilities to experience a playable yet stimulating terrain characterized by wide fairways that accommodate forgiving drives. The course’s design encourages an open style of play while weaving through verdant palms and mature trees that punctuate the landscape, providing both shade and strategic challenges.

Biltmore's fairways are generous, making it particularly approachable for higher-handicap players and those seeking a comfortable round without constant penalty for slight misses. However, difficulty rises with the introduction of elevated bunkers boasting steep lips, compelling precision on approach shots. The greens are a prominent feature, known for their quick speeds and subtle undulations. These putting surfaces demand focused reading and touch, rewarding golfers willing to engage thoughtfully with their short game.

Beyond the course itself, golfers can enjoy a range of amenities tailored to support a comprehensive golf experience. The practice facilities include a grass driving range, along with dedicated pitching, chipping, and putting areas where players can fine-tune all aspects of their game before setting out. On-course conveniences such as water and ice stations ensure play remains comfortable under Miami’s warm climate.

While the course is designed to appeal broadly, the layout naturally favors those who appreciate a balance of relaxation and strategic shot-making. The setting near historic landmarks and the Biltmore Hotel lends an atmosphere where golf meets resort leisure, making it an attractive destination for visitors and locals alike.

Players considering a visit should prepare for Florida’s weather conditions, opting for breathable attire and sun protection. Walking is allowed but golf carts are readily available, offering flexibility according to preference and pace of play. The welcoming environment combines maintained natural beauty with practical design features, ensuring each round offers an engaging test framed by Florida’s signature greenery and light breezes.

Course Highlights

The course challenges players with high-walled bunkers that guard the greens and demand careful navigation. Wide fairways make it accessible to a broad range of players, while fast rolling greens require refined putting skills. The layout incorporates the natural Florida landscape with mature palms and gentle elevation changes, maintaining the historic ambiance of the Biltmore property. Practice facilities include a well-maintained grass range and multiple short game areas.

The worst experience we’ve had in our entire family golf history. We arrived at the course as three adult golfers and our 5-year-old son, who obviously can’t play all 18 holes yet and only has three small golf clubs. We fully paid for his game. At hole 1, the starter stopped us and argued that we only had three bags instead of four. Yes, we don’t have four, because our 5-year-old son has only three small clubs, which he keeps directly in the buggy so he can easily reach them. The starter insisted we must have four bags if we wanted to play. He refused to acknowledge the absurdity of such a rule when our little son wouldn’t even be able to take clubs out of a regular golf bag by himself. The starter insisted that only three golfers could play. And because it was Friday, even our 5-year-old son couldn’t just ride along with us. Because it is allowed only from Monday-Thursday. I can’t even describe the absurd situation the starter put us in. He even made our son cry, saying we couldn’t play — poor kid, heartbroken, kept saying he never wanted to play golf again. Thank you so much, Biltmore Golf Course, for this trauma to a little future Tiger Woods, who has loved golf up to this day. Rules are important, but sometimes it doesn’t hurt to apply common sense, humanity, and to realize that your attitude can have a negative impact on the young generation, who still believe the (golf) world is a good place.

Interesting historic design with decent conditions and surly service. We stayed at the hotel and played one round. The range was not great. It was mats only, with beat up balls, and you can’t hit driver. There’s a small chipping area but beware - the staff will yell at you to pick your balls up, even if you knock them off the green. There’s a nice practice green that’ll show you want you can expect from the greens on the course. Pace was what you’d expect from a resort course. We waited on most shots, but it wasn’t egregious. The greens were in good shape and made the course fun. Fairways, bunkers and rough could use some attention. A lot of the holes were similar and kind of blended together. There’s a couple of great holes that cross a river, and the book end par 5s are gettable. The pro shop was nice, but the staff couldn’t be bothered to help with anything. All it all it was a fun round with acceptable conditions. I’d play the track again, but I wouldn’t seek it out or pay a premium. Customer service could certainly improve.

The hotel is very nice and has good views. The staff is attentive, but the food is currently quite poor. I just checked out of the hotel and have been sick to my stomach for two days because of what I had for lunch at the hotel the day I arrived, which was a lettuce and tuna wrap by the pool. I can't say that everything we ordered was good. For absolutely everything you order, they include (mandatory) a 20% tip on the bill and ask for additional tips, even if all you're going to buy is a beer at the pool bar and you have to go get it yourself. The meaning of tipping, which is meant to encourage good service, has been completely lost. At the Fourth of July dinner at La Fontana restaurant, we got tired of waiting for a plate of food and finally had to cancel it, as we had been waiting almost an hour between courses. The hotel does not offer any evening entertainment. It's extremely boring. There isn't even any incidental music in the lobby, nothing. If you try to turn on the TV in your room to watch a movie, they charge you $21.99, just like going to the movies. When you check out, they tell you they'll charge you a hotel fee for internet access, pool use, and gym use... and I wonder... when you pay for a hotel stay, doesn't it even include use of the pool??? That's a lot!!!

The Biltmore’s recent renovations are visually stunning there’s no doubt the investment has elevated the aesthetic. However, the integrity of the golf environment falls shockingly short of what one would expect from a course of this prestige, especially with its connection to the Jim McLean Academy. Both times we played, we witnessed a group of self-proclaimed “members” openly smoking marijuana, snorting what appeared to be harder substances, blasting music from their carts, drinking excessively, and cursing loudly all in the presence of children, including mine. When my husband politely asked them to lower the volume and be more mindful, they replied dismissively: “We’re members. If you don’t like it, go back to your golf club.” Behavior like this isn’t just disrespectful, it completely undermines the safety and family-friendly standards many of us value, particularly those with junior golfers. It’s deeply disappointing to see this tolerated at such an iconic venue. Given that it happened twice in one week, I seriously doubt it was an isolated incident. I never leave reviews but felt compelled to share this as a warning to other families. Until there is visible oversight and a commitment to upholding the values of the game not just the appearance. I cannot recommend this course to families or serious players.

The Biltmore golf course is what you would expect of a premium resort golf course. The course itself is pristine and wide open with easy roughs. Ideal for someone looking to have an enjoyable golf experience, without too much adventure. The fairways are so wide that slicers and hookers won’t have much difficulty. Difficulty is added to the course by high walled sand traps with overhanging lips, so no rolling through them. The greens are also difficult from being lightning fast and undulating, that will take getting used to. The facilities are first rate, with everything that you could ask for. Lots of valets and golf carts with comfortable padded seats, towels and tees. Plenty of air conditioned restrooms and water and ice machines on the course. A grass practice range is available with pitching, chipping and putting practice areas. The only let down when I went was no help with golf bags from the drop off area to the check in area

Phenomenal course and practice facilities from end to end. This was my first Florida golfing experience and I’m stoked to have done it here. Got a good price on GolfNow so be sure to check there before booking. The staff was fantastic, super friendly and always helpful. The practice greens were stellar and ran true to the course. The driving range was also nice and did the trick. The course itself was great. The greens were perfect, and ran true. Quick, but fair and were consistent from hole to hole. I read some reviews on here about the fairways having some issues but I saw no evidence of that. Fairways all seemed great. Overall, a great course that I’ll be sure to come back and play again.
