Course Overview

Carved out of a rugged mountain backdrop just outside Weaverville, North Carolina, Reems Creek Golf Club delivers a golfing adventure that challenges your focus and rewards every thoughtful swing. Spanning nearly 7,000 yards from the back tees, this demanding 18-hole course stands as a bold invite to golfers ready to confront steep elevation changes and a layout that shifts from open fairways to claustrophobic, tree-lined corridors. Every hole offers a different challenge, asking players to manage precise shots while navigating natural rock outcrops and whispering pines that seem to lean in with every putt and drive.

From the first tee, the landscape pulls you in with its mix of raw mountain energy and refined course architecture. The air carries the faint scent of damp earth and pine needles, sharp and clean, juicy with the promise of impending forest drizzles or sudden sunlight bursts through shifting clouds. The fairways roll with a rawness—uneven yet inviting—reflecting the mountain terrain’s unpredictable nature. Expect altitude to play a role: elevation swings stretch the legs and test stamina, and the climb offers spectacular views of the Blue Ridge foothills that refuse to be ignored.

Planning to tackle Reems Creek on foot? Walking is strongly encouraged here, letting you embrace every sensory moment as the terrain challenges and rewards in equal measure. Opt for footwear with solid grip—wet morning dew turns slopes slippery. Hydration is crucial; even a mild exertion sweats out quickly under the mountain sun. Early morning or late afternoon tee times avoid peak heat and take advantage of the golden light that paints the creeks and ridges with warm hues.

In play, the course pushes you to think, not just swing. Approach shots demand accuracy with tricky green complexes guarded by native vegetation and shifting winds that sneak through the valley. Water hazards aren’t just accidental—they dare you to test your nerve amid the rushing sounds of Reems Creek itself, whose currents snake alongside several holes as natural referees of your shot-making decisions.

The clubhouse stands ready as a cozy refuge at round’s end, offering hearty fare and local craft beers to soothe tired muscles and fuel a spirited recount of highlights. The friendly staff are seasoned guides, happy to share tips on pin placements or local bird activity that adds an unexpected companion to your walk.

Reems Creek Golf Club isn’t simply a course—it’s an encounter. Its rugged beauty and strategic layout reward players who come prepared to meet nature head-on, equipped with focus, stamina, and a love for golf that’s as raw and unforgettable as the mountain air itself.

Course Highlights

The course's standout features include significant elevation shifts that add both visual drama and physical challenge, intricate green complexes that reward precision, and the ever-present Reems Creek that snakes alongside multiple fairways, offering both aesthetic beauty and tactical risk. The blend of natural mountain rock formations and mature forest sections creates a dynamic setting that tests every aspect of a golfer’s skill set.

We brought 40 guys out to Reems Creek as part of our Don & Mike Golf Tournament, and Ally and her team absolutely crushed it. It thunderstormed all night before our round, and we honestly thought there was no way we’d be able to play. But by the time we got there, the course was ready and in amazing condition. Huge credit to the crew for getting it playable that fast—unreal. Ally was awesome. Super helpful, on top of everything, and made sure our group got out smoothly and on time. Getting 40 guys organized is no easy job, but she handled it like a pro. Reems Creek ended up being a major highlight of the trip and we’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend.

The last time we played several years ago we were disappointed in the condition of the course and the Clubhouse. Wow! Two ladies took over the course a couple of years ago and are doing an awesome job of creating a good mountain golf course. First the Clubhouse has been totally revamped creationing a great venue for food, watching sports, sitting on the patio or shopping in the PRO Shop. Most impressive with more of a touch of country club feel. The course is in better shape too. This takes time so we understand this is a work in process. The greens are very good. Tee boxes are good and some are currently being redone. Plus the golf carts are plush with nice simple GPS on each cart. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. On this Sunday afternoon due to recent rains it was cart path only. This is a VERY hilly course with a lot of terrain so it makes for walking up, down, over and more to get to your ball. It has water on a few holes. Plus take time to enjoy the mountaintop views from the elevation. Work is continuing on the course so we look forward to playing in the future. “Congrats for saving this rest mountain course.”

Flooded fairways, tee boxes have large dead spots, mud bunkers with 3 foot weeds in them, multiple large sinkholes, mold in the bathrooms, just a few of the things that could be improved on to actually want to spend money to play here. Many better golf course options around Weaverville and Asheville to truly enjoy.

My husband and I had our rehearsal dinner and welcome party at Reems Creek Golf Club and we had the best experience! The staff were great to work with, they were communicative and laid-back which helped make the process seem easy and enjoyable! We were able to rent out the entire space -- the pickleball courts, the pool, tee-times for golfers, the driving range, the outdoor patio, and the dining area for our event which made for a great time! The sunset over the patio is spectacular and made for a great back-drop for our family speeches and music! We would highly recommend booking with Reems Creek for any event!

We held a Rehearsal Dinner at Reems Creek Gold Course and they did a fabulous job. Asia assisted us from beginning to end and was an awesome host. The food was very good and the service was top notch. Everyone that attended had nothing but positive comments. They were very cost competitive and was close to the venue (Fields of Blackberry Cove). Couldn’t have asked for a better evening. Thank-you Reems Creek and especially Asia for all your help.

Reems Creek Golf club is a gem in the mountains of NC! The course is in the best shape I have seen it in the last 5 years. Fairways are beautiful. Rough… well, is rough. Greens are rolling well. They have replaced some bunkers with waste areas. And sodded over others. Many tee boxes have been replaced and most of the damage from Helene has also been addressed. Highly recommend this course.

Wonderful course! If you want a great value mountain golf experience, this is the place. Survived Hurricane Helene in surprisingly good condition, compared to the other local course. Greens are smooth and regular, fairways are well filled in, and the rough gives you a US Open experience! Yardage is deceiving, 6,000 from the tips and 5500 from the 'regulars', but you won't shoot anywhere close to your index the first time you come out. Clubhouse is welcoming, with an excellent variety of food & drinks. And the owners and staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Come out and play, you won't regret it! Well, maybe a few times when you card your third triple-bogey, but that's golf.
