Course Overview

Fields Ranch presents a rugged test woven into the heart of Frisco, Texas, where urban edge meets raw nature. This 18-hole course stretches just over 7,200 yards from the back tees, challenging every skill with a demanding par 72 layout. Walkers will find the rolling terrain sharp with narrow fairways, sharp doglegs, and tee shots that urge precision. The land shifts beneath your feet—rocky outcroppings pushing up through the grass, a creek daring golfers to flirt with its banks, and unyielding native grasses cutting fierce angles around the greens.

From the first tee, birds cry overhead while the wind teases your stance, reminding you that this is a place where the elements take part in every shot. The undulating fairways roll toward large, contoured greens that require your full focus to unlock. The course design highlights elevation changes that offer views beyond the course itself; you can see the swelling Dallas skyline in the distance, a stark contrast to the course’s untamed vibe.

Playing Fields Ranch on foot offers an intimate encounter with the course’s soul. The walk pulses with energy as you navigate through tight corridors of cedars and mesquite that brush against your sleeves. The dry, well-drained terrain holds firm beneath your shoes but requires sturdy footwear—cleats or spikeless with solid traction are necessary. Hydration is key here: the Texas heat can mount quickly, especially in the summer months. Start early to avoid the midday scorch, and keep a water bottle within reach.

Strategically placed bunkers guard the greens with a silent warning. Each bunker’s sand seems alive, swirling with the wind, challenging you to execute your shots with care and calm. The course demands a well-rounded game; long hitters will find ample opportunity to attack par 5s, but approach shots require sub-stance control. Mid-iron shots often face wind and terrain that tip scales against the unprepared.

Facilities embrace a modern but no-frills approach, focusing on efficiency and comfort. The clubhouse offers a straightforward, clean space for post-round reflection, with friendly staff ready to assist. The practice areas provide ample room to warm up, including an expansive driving range and chipping area that invite extended preparation.

Fields Ranch calls to those seeking a golf experience that tests grit and skill while offering vivid sensory rewards. It’s a playground for adventurers ready to read the land, adjust to nature’s moods, and savor every strike beneath the Texas sky.

Course Highlights

Fields Ranch stands out with its rugged terrain and sharp elevation changes that keep players thinking shot placement at every moment. The course challenges with narrow fairways framed by native rough and natural grasses that press inward like a test of nerve. The creek crossing a few holes adds a dynamic water hazard element that demands strategic planning. The Dallas skyline view from well-placed vantage points creates a contrast between wild landscape and city life, enriching the round with a unique visual element.

Got the chance to play both the East and West courses. Absolutely amazing! East was amazing as we walked it with caddies, and it was one of my favorite rounds of all time. Josh was an AMAZING caddie, which simply added to the experience. Be sure to request him! It was a hard but fair layout. Greens, you do need the caddies. They roll true, but there are breaks you simply don't see! They were firm due to it being a newer course. West course was awesome as well. We rode carts for that side, though. Granted, it was CPO for the even numbered holes, so maybe we should have walked it. We're sure to play here again as it was an amazing experience, golf, to the staff, to the food! You gotta try out Fields Ranch!

2 courses, East and West. East is a bit more challenging. Large putting complex and lighted par 3 course. Omni hotel on property as well as several dining, clothing and golf experiences. Great location for group event and destination golf experience. Wind was an added element which dramatically increased the challenge. Caddies are learning the course since it has been open less than 2 years.

Horrible golf course with slowest pace of play. Looks like a former landfill. Hard to believe this dusty, windy, treeless course was selected to host Women’s PGA championship. You’re the PGA! DO BETTER!

Pretty surprised this place has only 4.2 stars on average. Nothing short of a 5 star experience in my recent trip. From the moment I arrived, the staff was extremely friendly. Great, spacious practice facility with top tier range balls (can even choose chrome soft or pro v). East course is certainly challenging but also fair. Condition 10/10.

This was a great experience. The East course is a walk-only with caddies which enhances the experience. The course is challenging, but certainly playable for mid-handicappers and below. High handicappers will struggle, but could make it around. The greens and fairways are in excellent shape. Greens are firm, but roll true. Rough is thick, so watch your entries to make sure not to lose your ball. Our caddies were very nice, provided good tips for aiming points and green reads, were friendly and made the experience even better. My only negatives were the cost, which it is a premium experience, but $1000 for 2 players with caddies is a lot for a round that isn’t inclusive of snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. Merchandise in pro-shop was nice, but also on the higher price side given the brands they carry. And the pro-shop and marshal staff were professional but not welcoming and friendly. When a golfer splurges for an experience, you expect it to be memorable at all levels. The only thing that was truly memorable in a positive way from this round were the course conditions and our caddies. I likely won’t return, but am glad I played it before the PGA and LPGA events drive up the price further.

We were day when it was too windy. Otherwise, we surely would enjoy more. It's definitely worth a visit and will want to re-visit with a better weather condition
